PPF: Public Provident Fund

The full form of PPF is “Public Provident Fund”. It is a deposit scheme used for savings and tax-saving purposes in India. Which was introduced in 1968 by the National Savings Institute of the Ministry of Finance. Many people also consider it as a means of earning money at the time of retirement.

GPF: General Provident Fund

The full form of GPF is “General Provident Fund”. This is a provident fund account available to government employees. In this fund, government employees contribute a certain percentage of their salary to the account. The deposit amount is paid to the employee at the time of retirement or superannuation.

EPF: Employees’ Provident Fund

The scheme is managed under the aegis of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). EPF is a government organization providing compulsory contributory pension and insurance schemes in India. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization is mainly divided into 4 zonal offices located at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai with the Chief Executive Officer being the Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner. These zonal offices are further divided into regional offices and regional offices into sub-regional offices and district offices.

The Chief Officer of the Regional Office is the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner and the Chief Officer of the Sub-Regional Office is the Junior Grade Regional Provident Fund Commissioner.
