What is Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre mean?
The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated ADNEC) is an exhibition centre in Abu Dhabi. It was opened by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates on February 18, 2007. It was designed by the international architecture firm, RMJM. The venue is the largest exhibition centre in the Middle East with a total space of 133,000m2 which is the sum of 73,000m2 indoor event space and its outdoor space of 55,900m2. ADNEC has a large seating capacity in its several locations in the venue, the International Convention Centre-ICC can seat up to 6,000, both Conference Halls A&B seat up to 1,500 combined, and the 20 Meeting rooms in the venue can seat between 20 and 200 a room, while the Grandstand can accommodate up to 5,400 visitors.
The exhibition centre has stimulated development around it, most notable the Capital Centre and Capital Gate projects.
