What is Australian Early Medieval Association mean?
The Australian Early Medieval Association (AEMA) is a learned society established in 2003 in the state of Victoria, Australia. The Association was formed to promote and support early medieval studies in Australia. Its membership is open to scholars with an active interest in early medieval studies, broadly defined as from the late Roman Empire to the Norman Conquest that is from approximately 400 CE to 1100 CE, and encompassing all regions of the world.
The Association members organise international conferences and publish an annual peer-refereed journal, the Journal of the Australian Early Medieval Association, which is a key international scholarly journal in early medieval studies.
The Association is managed by a revolving Committee elected by the membership every year.
