The AIPS was founded in Paris in 1924 by Frantz Reichel, who headed the organising committee for the 1924 Summer Olympics, and Victor Boin. The eponymous AIPS magazine is published four times a year. The Association also presents the Power of Sports Award and the AIPS Sport Media Awards, the highest international award for sports journalists.
