According to 2010 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 6,558. According to District officials, in school year 2009-10 the Ridgway Area School District provided basic educational services to 987 pupils through the employment of 86 teachers, 40 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 6 administrators. Ridgway Area School District received more than $6.5 million in state funding in school year 2009-10.
Students in grades K-5 attend the elementary school, those in grades 6-8 attend the middle school, and those in grades 9-12 attend the high school.
