What is TARLUPADU mean?
Tarlupadu is a village in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. It is a Gram Panchayat and also a Mandal Headquarter. The total population of this village is around 5,000. The revenue division is Kandukur and Sub-Division is Podili. It falls into Markapuram Assembly constituency. Previously it used to be under Cumbum Assembly constituency which is been removed in the process of delimitation of Assembly constituencies in 2009.
Being a Mandal Headquarter, it hosts all the offices of government bodies like MRO, MEO, MDO, PHC etc.
This Village is mostly a agricultural dependent village. Most of the villagers are into agriculture despite a few grocery stores, Fancy stores, Electric and plumbing stores. Mostly grown crops here are Bengal Gram, Toor Dal, Cotton, Tobacco, Mirchi, Millets. It was known for its trade decades ago. Because of that, it also has been named as 'Chinna Guntur'.
The village has five schools: ZP High School, Upper Primary School, Elementary School, Urdu School and Missionary High School called Luthern High School.
The Village has good number of Temples too. There are almost eight temples, two churches and one mosque. The Temples are:

This is one of the biggest events happen in the village. This temple also has a great history as the 'PRATHISHTA' was done by the JANAMEJAYA MAHARAJU (The great grandson of ARJUNA from Mahabharatha).
