The American Catholic Church in the United States (ACCUS) is a recently created Independent Catholic church which claims to be an offshoot from Duarte Costa's apostolic succession. Founded in 1999, the American Catholic Church in the United States, being an offshoot of the Independent Catholic movement, has no relation whatsoever with the Catholic Church. As a result of the already existing doubts of apostolic succession being present in the movement and with its attempted ordination of women, the only large religion that accepts their claim of apostolic succession is the Anglican Church.
