The American Society of Criminology (ASC) is an international organization based on the campus of The Ohio State University focussed on crime and delinquency. It aims to grow and disseminate knowledge and scholarly research, with members working in many related fields and on different levels in the fields of criminal justice and criminology.
It is devoted to the study of crime and justice policy, with the objective of strengthening the role of research in the formulation of public policy in this arena. Eleven of the 16 Society divisions also produce and distribute various publications. The Society holds an annual meeting that attracts some 4,000+ attendees from roughly 40 countries.
Society offices were located on the campus of Ohio State University from the mid-1960s, but they are now located in a separate location in Chatham Lane in Columbus, Ohio.
