Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute is a high school located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Founded in the late 19th century, the school was widely known as a highly academic school, and was designed to look much like a university.
Among the school's more well-known graduates is Bill Norrie (1929-2012), who served as Winnipeg's 39th Mayor from 1979 to 1992. While at the school, Norrie was elected school president, won the Governor General's Academic Medal and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford.
Guess Who guitarist Kurt Winter (1946-1997) also attended the school. A scholarship in Winter's name has been presented annually at the school since 1998.
The school is named after Daniel McIntyre, Winnipeg's first school superintendent.
