East Meadow High School is a public high school in the East Meadow Union Free School District. East Meadow High School was founded in 1953. The school serves students in grades 9−12. Approximately 88% of 2007's graduating class continued their education – with 60% going on to four-year colleges and 27% to two-year colleges.
In 1964, East Meadow High School competed on the NBC-TV program “It’s Academic.” Representing EMHS were Stanley D. Chess (team captain), Marta Gutenberg, and Diane Pike. The team came in second.
As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,446 students and 129.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.2:1. There were 261 students (18.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 73 (5.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
