National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) (https://nfra.gov.in) is an independent regulator to oversee the auditing profession and accounting standards in India under Companies Act 2013. It came into existence in October 2018. The aim of this body was to reduce the accounting scams and improve the quality of the audits in order to enhance the investors and build the confidence among the public. The Centre has given additional charge of Chairperson, NFRA to Sh Ashok Kumar Gupta, who is Chairperson of CCI also.
