NAAC stands for National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous body in India that conducts assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) such as colleges, universities or other recognized institutions to derive an understanding of the ‘Quality Status’ of the institution. It is funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). NAAC was established in 1994 to emphasize the quality of higher education in India. Sharma is the Director and Prof. Dhirendra Pal Singh is the president of the General Council and Dr. Virander S. Chauhan is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of NAAC.
